This course aims to give you an initial broad understanding of the Teachable platform then builds upon that newfound knowledge to introduce more advanced ideas and techniques that you can use immediately in your own lecture and sales pages.
Access to a computer, tablet or mobile phone with an internet connection. Experience may not be optimal on a phone or smaller tablet so we urge you to use a desktop whenever possible.
You may wish to use an external code editor for the code snippets but this isn't necessary as all code can be entered straight into the Teachable blocks.
Originally from Scotland, I spent my early twenties working on board ships as a Radio Operator for 7 years before changing career to an Environmental Officer. I continued to stay on board ships for a further 8 years before retiring to start a family.
Over the last 20 years, I've taught myself HTML and CSS and more recently JavaScript. I'm an expert on the Teachable platform even helping to develop Teachable's own Academy site along with dozens of other highly successful Teachable schools.
My main goal is to empower school owners to embrace their inner geek and get their hands dirty by showing and teaching them some actionable code to make their schools look awesome.
No, you don't need to know any of these technologies. However knowing something about them will be an advantage. Understanding basic formatting will help in following along with any code examples in the courses but each section will be clearly explained when necessary. For the complete novice, there are step by step instructions on exactly what to look for in the Power Editor and what to copy/paste where.
